The Second Book in the Wildly Popular Shadow-Keepers Series!

** THE INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW KEEPER – MCKENZIE MILLER**

Can a heart that is walled away never to love or trust find its beat in one that is needing someone to save it? And what happens when that salvation is blurred?

McKenzie Miller had never needed anyone. Not since she lost both her parents to a crime of passion at a young age. Shuffled from foster home to foster home, Kenzie finally took control of her own life and lived on the streets.

Now she’s an adult and she has a hard-wired survivalist core to never be used or abused again. She’s strong and no one will ever hurt her–because no one will ever be let inside of the part of her that can still feel–her heart.

Lana had everything that her parent’s money could buy and until they lost it all in the economy crash, the young ballet dancer had a bright future with the San Francisco Ballet Company. Now she struggles to reach for her dream and still survive. Until one night…

Welcome to the world of the Grid. Where heroes and Eaters of souls walk among us. And a war rages with the prize being the existence of mankind, or its loss.

About Jas T. Ward

Jas T. Ward has always used writing as a necessary escape. With a past that is marred with a difficult childhood and domestic violence as well as being homeless as an adult, Ward lost her creative voice when she lost her soul mate to suicide.

Finding that creative voice once again in writing in social media via blogs and creative writing groups, it was the fans that encouraged her to put her literary weavings to paper for them to enjoy.

Ward lives in Texas with her dog and cat- Author Dog Pumkin and Writer Kitty Orleans and is the proud parent of three independent children.

When asked why she writes, Ward answers simply:

Reading saved me. It was my salvation and my haven. I now strive to pay that gift back by writing books that can give the same to others. And to keep myself sane.

Story Time Friday – A Bleak Future

A Life Among The Pages

I’ve had an idea floating in my head for a story for awhile now. It’s inspired by some dystopian, post-apocalyptic, etc type books I’ve read and have been reading. But when I sat down to put the idea on paper, this poem started forming instead.

I won’t reveal what the original idea was just yet. I might try to write the story some time soon. Instead, I’ll share this poem that’s a variation on the original idea. I think it could be fleshed out a bit more to explain things, but I think the poem as it is now isn’t lacking in too many areas. Just a few, maybe. If I’ll expand, it’ll be in prose form, along with the other story idea.

We’ll see what comes of all that. For now, enjoy The Keeper.

Triptychs: The third book in the Mind’s Eye series.

Fantastic Books

In this, the third book in the Mind’s Eye series, we see a slight change of format. This time, instead of two writers responding to a previously unseen photograph, three authors are involved each time. This makes Triptychs an ideal opportunity to become familiar with the work of different, but equally talented authors.

As before, the photographs were provided by Martin David Porter and Helle Gade. The latter and Ben Ditmars contributed poetry, while short stories were written by Jason McIntyre, J.Michael Radcliffe, Maria Savva, Darcia Helle, Jay Finn, Eden Baylee, Lisette Brody, Marc Nash, Julie Elizabeth Powell and Geoffrey David West.

A variety of genres are represented in this excellent book. There is fantasy, horror, contemporary fiction, as well as poetry.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this wonderful variety of short works and it has certainly whetted my appetite to read more by these writers. I’m looking forward to buying…

This week, I’m letting Ben Ditmars take the reigns. I won’t talk his poem up too much. He’s capable of doing that himself…

I haven’t done many found poems. They are tricky and often come out forced having originated from other voices. But for National Poetry Month I wanted to step outside my comfort zone and help promote some poets in the process. So, please enjoy Dirt Road Embers.fancy lineresize

Dirt Road Embers

by Ben Ditmars

Human beings are powder kegs
Electric lightbulbs burning out and
Waiting to explode; we carry on
Please carry me I’m broken
Caught between the gloaming
Wine-stained fringe existence
Broken places bleeding midnight
On a savage rose where
She is strong and I’m inhaling
Smoke through laughter
Birthing madness; nothing left
But pulse and sadness slipping
Into evening; we can’t lose.

Different imaginations: TRIPTYCHS ( Book three in The Minds Eye Series). Thirteen different authors! #share

A wonderful review of Triptychs 💟

Purplerose123's Blog

TRIPTYCHS ( minds eyes series book three)
I love this series! Every time I open a new book from this series I’m thrilled because I know I’m about to read from new authors and ones I already love. I see some beautiful photography and read meaningful poetry. The stories are different from one another, different styles, dark, romance, mystical and the poems are mind blowing. There are 13 authors, photographers in this book, each story meticulously written for your reading pleasure, “pleasure “you will get from this book. There are short stories, some longer ones, I loved each one, I loved everything about this book. It’s hard to have a favorite when there’s such great authors, you’ll have to read it to see what I mean. I know I found new authors in this series, you will to. Whoever came up with this concept is genius! So much talent in…

April is National Poetry Month

Well April is the Month for Poetry ~ 30 Poems in 30 Days!!!

NaPoWriMo, or National Poetry Writing Month, is an annual project in which participating poets attempt to write a poem a day for the month of April.

IMG_0608-0

The Website http://www.napowrimo.net/ is owned and operated by Maureen Thorson, a poet living in Washington, DC. Inspired by NaNoWriMo, or (National Novel Writing Month), she started writing a poem a day for the month of April back in 2003, posting the poems on her blog. When other people started writing poems for April, and posting them on their own blogs, Maureen linked to them. After a few years, so many people were doing NaPoWriMo that Maureen decided to launch an independent website for the project.
