Warrior

I bear my pain with grace

Your scorn shall not bring me down

I am a warrior

A champion in my own right

I will fight to the end

My strength infinite

My compassion flowing

Blog Hop: The Next Big Thing

Front Cover

I was recently asked by Kevin Swarbrick, a wonderful writer to take part in this Blog Hop!

For this Blog Hop I am to answer 10 questions about my work in progress then tag other authors to do the same.

Here we go:

1: What is the working title of your book?

Silent Dreams

2: Where did the idea come from for the book?

Most of the poems came to me right before I fell asleep at night.  Silent dreams from a nutty Dane.

3: What genre does your book fall under?

Poetry.

4: Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I doubt that my poetry collection could be made into a movie. But if I could choose someone to read it out loud it would be Tom Hiddleston. I love his voice.

5: What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Poetry with a bit of a bite.

6: Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

It’ll be self-published.

7: How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

I took me 3 months from I started the book to I finished it.

8: What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I wouldn’t compare it with anything.  It’s my thoughts in the dark night.

9: Who or What inspired you to write this book?

I was inspired by Amber Jerome-Norregard, Ben Ditmars, Robert Zimmermann and Mark Rice & Writers Inc. They have all written some amazing poetry.  I had not read any poetry before them.  I always thought I didn’t understand poetry, but they proved me wrong.

10: What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

It’s a mixed collection of poetry that visits Nordic mythology, simple pleasures, darkness, love and pain. There should be something for everyone.

Check out this amazing lady’s blog and the coming interviews.

Tracy James Jones

The ‘New Year’ has sort of gotten off to a slow start here on my blog, due to so many things we often have to attend to in regards to our personal and business lives, but I am glad to say that in the first couple of weeks there has been some fantastic things going on and in the works for my fellow Indie Authors.

Congrats again to YA Author M.J. Webb on his first radio interview!  (Birmingham England)

Congrats & best wishes to Authors Charity Parkerson & Melissa Craig for their nominations for the Australian Romance Readers Awards!  (Event to be held in Brisbane Australia)

Thank you too, Author Christina OW, for sharing news of your new release.  (South Africa)

I am so proud, thankful, and down-right thrilled of the International Associations of Indie Authors (meaning my personal associations) who have chosen my blog to share their wonderful news…

When a Good Book Goes Bad – Shadows of the Realm Strips!

My awesome friend Dionne Lister is having her book on sale. Please check it out 🙂

Ok, I know I’m going on about it but my book is now on sale! I’ve really put the price down to $1.99. I know it’s not free, but this is as far as I go for now, kind of like playing strip poker—I’m the prude wearing 50 layers of clothing. I’ll only take off so much before I put it all back on again. Although, it is a bit nerve-wracking: what if no one buys it, even when it’s cheap? Maybe that’s why stripping off scares me: what if I take it all off and people look for a moment then look away in boredom, or even worse, disgust—what do I have left? Nothing. And please nobody hold up cards with one star on them. Oh dear, I’ve given myself away and people are telling others about how unimpressed they are. Ok, maybe I’m going too far. I’m sure you’ll love me naked, ah, I mean my book, you’ll love my book, and I’m sure you’ll buy it at $1.99 because you wouldn’t want it to get depressed would you? Rejection is so hard to take.

So, show my book some love and tell your friends, tell your family, even tell that weird old lady who sleeps at the bus stop—she’s probably secretly a millionaire and can’t wait to read my epic fantasy novel. Shadows of the Realm, or SOTR as it’s becoming known because of the ease of fitting into a tweet, is perfect for teens and adults—it’s an awesome crossover/family read. You’re always complaining that you have nothing to talk to your teenagers about, so buy this, both read it and get talking!

You can purchase it at Amazon US, Amazon UK and Smashwords. Happy reading :).
